More Fake Flowers
Written by admin on September 29th, 2007Well hubby and I had a nice outing this morning. I had to work this evening, so I knew my time with my sweet family was limited today, but I would not let myself pout about it. I spent some time reading early this morning, got my shower, and then hubby and I set out to spend part of our morning together. We did some grocery shopping and then we went by the Dollar Tree to try on reading glasses. Isn’t middle age exciting?
Anyway, not too long ago I found this old-looking vase. It’s very heavy and the roses painted on the front are fading in such a pretty way. It’s been sitting in my living room empty — until now. I spotted some more fake flowers in Dollar Tree and I thought now those would look good in that vase I bought. Here they are:

I am not usually a fan of fake flowers in the house, but I like these for now. In a month or so I might be wondering, ewwwww why did I buy those??? But not now. As a side note, above the flowers is a picture of some long-gone family members. It’s actually my great-great grandfather and g-g-grandmother and some of their many children.
I’m happy to be back home tonight. My dear hubby cooked for the children this evening. He’s getting more and more chances these days to experience what it’s like to be a “housewife.” And it’s not just cooking meals! Tonight one of the commodes overflowed - again. (I hope this is not going to be a regular thing.) Anyhoo, dear husband was able to experience the full joy of being a housewife: running wildly to get the plunger, quizzing the children (who all become immediately angelic-looking when something like this happens) about what could have been placed into the commode to cause this, mopping 5 gallons of water up off the floor, then drying the floor, then sanitizing the floor with a cleaner, then carrying an arm-load of soggy towels and what-not to the washer. When I came home late this evening the clothes dryer was running and he was sitting down looking at a magazine. I was so tempted to look around and say, so…what did you do today? LOL.
I’m off to bed soon. Gotta get up in the morning.

Sometimes splurging on a few dollars for an uplifitng bouquet is just the thing to liven up a little part of your world!
I took your advice and purchased fall flowers from the Dollar Tree although they didn’t have any more of the fall garland, like you used on your door wreath, they did have a nice little collection of rich looking golden mums…we are enjoying the bright yellow centerpiece…
Your flowers are a perfect match to the vase! Looks very good!

I love shopping — probably too much! I don’t know how long these flowers will appeal to me, but they do brighten up that little corner of the room!
And your friend,
