Pretty Home Sights
By Lynn, on January 28th, 2008
I love just being home and walking around my house — cleaning, straightening, appreciating. This morning I cleaned the three rooms on my cleaning schedule.

I love clean, bright windows. (Actually I love how the sun is shining here today!)

Cleaning things makes them shine. My bathroom shelf is spotless.
Once done, it’s nice to go outside and breathe some fresh air. There are spring plants checking to see if it’s warm enough to come all the way out.
Crocus…

and daffodils…

The sun shines bright on my garden, beckoning me to walk in and sit down and enjoy the bright warm rays.

It won’t be long until the garden is full of blooms and bees again.
Happy Monday,
Lynn

About Lynn
I am the mother of four delightful children: a 23-year-old son, a 20-year-old son, a 17-year-old son, and a bright and bubbly 13-year-old daughter. I share an apartment home with my 17-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter. My little home on the internet is called Rose Cottage because of my love for gardening, roses, and all things romantic and Victorian. Welcome.
I'm a North Carolina girl and I love sharing North Carolina links and information. I do medical transcription from home. My hobbies include making sweet little dolls from clay who are named and have their own stories to tell. I also make old-fashioned brooches. These are for sale in my Etsy shop.
For 13 years continuously, I homeschooled some or all of our four children, but the time came that our homeschool had to be closed. It was the end of a beautiful chapter in my life. I will always be a strong supporter of homeschooling and I will continue to review books and maintain my homeschool website, The Healthy Homeschool.

My Symphony
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.

Seriously? Crocuses? You must be joking. It’s still January.
For real? Let’s see when will I see a crocus in my yard….try late April maybe.
Ok…that seriously just freaked me out. A crocus in January.

Lynn,
I admire your blog very much having come to it from your link on the FIAR board. I have to work out of necessity also and I admire your contentment very much. It’s something I’m working on.

Heather, I’m serious girl! Crocus! Before long, the azaleas will have buds, the roses will have buds and the daffodils will actually bloom soon. I’ll keep you updated with pictures!!
Ann, thank you. I have to work on contentment every single day.
