First Bee of the Season!

Written by admin on March 3rd, 2008

I saw it!  I know spring is not too far away.

I worked outside just a little while this morning before going to work later this afternoon.  I had only about 30 minutes in the garden, but that goes a long way in making me happy.  :)

Wal-Mart had some very good deals on bulbs.  These pots were about 6 dollars apiece and each one had quite a few bulbs in them.  I’ll keep the containers which will be very nice for sharing divided perennials with friends.

I planted the bulbs today in my recently redesigned bed.  There’s a lot of purple, blue, and pink in this bed now.  (And probably a lot of other stuff I don’t remember!)

I also hung up a little plaque that I found at the Dollar Tree.  It was meant to hang from a stand stuck in the ground, but it went on a large S-hook and is hanging at my front arbor to greet visitors.

I took a bit of time to look through my seed collection.  These seeds won’t last forever, so I am going to try and plant most of them outside this year and see what I get, including these morning glory seeds given to me by a friend.

The dollar tree also had seed packets for 10 cents a piece.  I got several packs of cosmos which I plan to intersperse between all the things planted in bed #1.  :)

Can’t wait to see it all in bloom.

I am so happy to be home this evening.  Be it ever so humble, there’s NO place like home.

Lynn  :)
