A New Doll Clothes Chest
Saturday, May 24th, 2008On my thrift store hunts, I am always looking for something inexpensive that I can take home and turn into something really useful and pretty. I spotted something like that not long ago.

This well-made wooden chest is exactly the right size for a child’s room — think Princess of the Universe — and it was only 3 dollars! It’s just that the ducks have to go, and I’m not crazy about this color of wood either. Oh, I was in the 80s when it was so popular, but not now. So out comes the spray primer and the antique ivory spray paint.

The dolls sit happily on top of the chest. I like that this chest can also be used as a step stool for Princess of the Universe to get things from her closet or to climb up onto the bed.

And what doll family doesn’t need a pretty wooden chest for their doll clothes? It might even be nice to throw in a sachet filled with lavender from the garden.
