Close of Day

Monday, May 26th, 2008

I’m glad for today, but also glad the day has come to a close and it’s time for some sleep.

People keep on getting sick.  It’s doesn’t matter if it’s a holiday or not.  There are plenty of admission history and physical notes to type, even on a holiday.  People also want to go home to be with family during holidays, and the doctors try to help in that regard, so there are also plenty of discharge summaries to type.

I listened to classical music all day — and typed.  On breaks I shuffled the kids to and from holiday celebrations and sleep-overs.  Oh, and I had to pick up something to cook.  Life is busy, but I’m happy for my simple, sweet life with my husband and children.  During my lunch break I watered my office plants.  It was very relaxing to put each plant in the sink and give it a long drink of tepid water, washing the dust from each and every leaf.

The plants and the planters looked more lively afterwards.

I feel really, really good about our school lessons right now.  I think I am just as excited as Joe to learn about Japan.  I’ve worried about catching up in math, but there are plenty of students in public school who just can’t “get” math.  My Joe gets math, it’s just that he’s behind, but when you’re dealing with a learning disability of the level of his dyslexia, I think you just take things like that in stride.  I am contemplating whether or not we need a tutor for math.  We might.  But we might not.  :)   This summer will be my indicator.

Anyway, hope you had a great Memorial Day!

Remembering those who have fallen in battle and given their lives.

There’s a poem on our website you might enjoy.  Also, let me know what you think of the new header!

The Fallen Soldier

I’m working today, but today’s lessons are all planned out.  Actually, the whole week’s lessons are written out.

One of my sons is mowing the yard.

This is the same son who played his viola at a wedding yesterday afternoon.  Very special!
