Thrift Store Happiness

Even if I had money to burn, I think I’d be at the thrift store. Yes, there are some things that, of course, I buy new. Don’t we all. But I have no pride that gets in the way of my snapping up a 50-dollar skirt that’s sitting in a thrift store with the tags still on it simply because someone couldn’t or didn’t use it. It helps me live within my means.
Silk skirt of the palest, iciest blue, with a sweet little trim around the hem. Tag still hanging on it. I paid $3.00.

My,that is a very cute skirt.I bet it looks real good on you.and you did get a good deal.
I do most of my shopping at thrift stores and consignment shops.Always looking for a bargain,and I do watch how I spend my hard earn money even there.
Even thrift shopping can get addicting.I am going to have to slow down with the way gas cost so much.Every other day is getting to be too much.
Since it is a scorcher today,I am staying inside,not going anywhere!! Is it hot enough for you??

I love this skirt – perfect on you – I can see you even layering this with one of your other skirts or pretty dresses.
I still love long skirts – and at my age the short ones just don’t do it any longer – veins are not pretty! I bought a beauty last Fall to take to England – wear it with my now old and broken in Italian leather short boots. That’s why I long for Autumn and cool weather – I’m not a Summer clothes person at all. Today however, and probably the remainer of this very hot week , shorts (the long version) will be a necessity. It’s 99 right now and hotter tomorrow.
