I Blew Out A Flip-Flop
Written by admin on July 22nd, 2008And I can assure you I was NOT in Margaritaville. It was a day like any other, with me racing from one thing to another — basically me against the clock, and I just somehow felt my flip-flop stay behind when I took a frantic step onward and, well, there it was.

These were good flip-flops too. Really good. They’ve accompanied me around for at least two years. Perhaps three. Can you tell they used to be fancy flip-flops? Oh well.
I think I might be a bit hormonal, because I dreamed last night that I had a brand new baby. He was SO sweet. I named him Maples. Yes, MAPLES. It felt so real. I woke up thinking it had to be real, but then I knew it wasn’t because Hubby would never stand for the name Maples. Just think of it.
What did you name him?
My Hubby: His name is Maples.
Oh.
Then I went to the doctor today to have a throat culture. Long story. Well not so long. Neighbor child with Strep. Neighbor child over here some. Me with a slightly sore throat.
My blood pressure was 80/44. So I’ve always had low blood pressure, but this might be the lowest except right after childbirth when I fainted that time. I felt really good about the reading today. I mean isn’t it good to have low blood pressure? Mine is usually 90/60, but today I just figured I was really relaxed. I had just had time in the waiting room to read an entire magazine. That NEVER happens at home.
I said to Hubby when I came home, “guess what my blood pressure was?”
He said, 90/55. (He knows how low it usually is.)
I said, NOPE.
Lower??? he asked.
Yes.
50??
NO!
LOWER?
YES!
48?
NO!
LOWER!!!!?????
YES! 80 over 44, I said.
“Wow, that’s almost dead,” he said.
I guess it does sound alarming, but like I said, mine has always been low. During one pregnancy it hovered around 88/58 and the nurse always checked it twice. It runs in the family. There’s actually a family story about one of my great-aunts going to give blood and her blood pressure was so low they gave her blood.
Well, enough about my medical history. On another, more pet-related note, do you think any birds will ever land in this bird feeder again?

Oreo has claimed this as her early evening hangout. I can’t say that I blame her, being a cat and all.
Oh, I also thought you might want to see the cake
