I was out in the garden today for a relaxing break from all the stuff that goes on INSIDE the house. You know, cleaning, working, cleaning, cooking, cleaning, math, cleaning. Did I say cleaning?
Four times? Okay.
Anway, high up in a large gardenia bush was this…

Yes, the gardenia bush is large. The praying mantis sits above my eye level. Quite an imposing sight. Praying mantis slowly moved the wasp(?) away from its face to look at me.

Praying Mantis has obviously been eating. I can only imagine the dread this wasp felt when caught. If wasps experience dread, that is.

I think Praying Mantis strikes a very imposing silhouette.

I mean, I would hate to be an insect right now. Wouldn’t you?

Wow, that is an incredible picture. (Or those are incredible pictures.)
I don’t think it’s terrible that you aren’t in a groove yet for school, Princess of the Universe threw a loop into your plans, a wonderful beautiful frilly loop, but a loop nonetheless. And isn’t this also your first year working from home?
Awesome pictures, Lynn. I love praying mantises. We always have one, but I have not seen a single one this year.
Michele
Thanks, Stacy!
Amber, I agree!
Sheri, I had worked at home for years and used to work while homeschooling ALL four of the children. (Of course, Miss Priss was pre-K back then). It was in 2005 when my husband got so sick with Wolff-Parkinson-White that I went out into the workforce away from home. I just recently came back home. YAAAAAAAAAAAY.
Thank you so much for your encouragement.
Lynn
Amazing pics Lynn!
I’m off on my big trip tomorrow – hope to post from France. I’ll catch up with you in about a month.
Stay well – live each day joyfully.
Hugs – Mary.
Awesome shots. I recently had a photo of a mantis on my blog and everyone spoke of it looking like an alien. This one looks more so.
Thanks, Mary! I’ll “talk” with you when you return. Safe travels.
Maria, your picture is very cool! They do look like aliens, don’t they?
Lynn
Lynn, Those photos of the praying mantis are some of the most amazing shots that I have ever seen. I always love to see the nature photos you take. They are always so interesting! hugs, Ellen
