Thought you might want to see the little kittens. They are so cute right now! You can see the one without a tail — it’s very big, much bigger than the other kitten. It looks like the dad. The other kitten looks just like Fluffy, her mother. You can probably guess that we have not named them yet.
If you turn it up loud enough to hear the kittens, then our voices might be too loud as we oooh and aaah over the kittens. You were warned.
One thing I find unusual about Fluffy is her allowing Oreo, a female kitten from the first litter to hang around and help her. Fluffy, Oreo and the two new kittens all four sleep together in the crate/carrier on the porch. Also, Oreo grooms and plays with the kittens like they are hers. I’ve never seen anything like it. Have you? I thought cats were a little more territorial than this with their young and would run off cats from earlier litters.
Those kittens are cute. We’ve had several different momma cats at different times that allowed other cats in the family to join in the mothering. It’s always such great fun to watch!
Sheri, LOL. It must have been a big cat indeed! Sorry you lost him.
Rue, yes, and this for a family who was not going to have any more cats.
Shell, I guess they can just be like that. It was a surprise to me. I love to watch them! We enjoy them, even though we thought we were going to be pet-less. We used to always have a housecat, but due to my husband’s allergic symptoms we found a home for our last cat and said no more pets. Outside cats are working out good though.
Oh my! How adorable. I just love watching the mommy playing and grooming her kittens. So sweet! I also think it is pretty neat that Oreo is able to nurture them too. Love it. Our two kittens are growing so fast! My dad has two manx cats. It took me awhile to get use to cats with stubs or no tails. His cat Merlin, has a short stub. Melody, has no tail.
Have a wonderful day. hugs, Ellen
p.s. I enjoyed your aaaahhh’s in the background!
I am the mother of four delightful children: a 23-year-old son, a 20-year-old son, a 17-year-old son, and a bright and bubbly 13-year-old daughter. I share an apartment home with my 17-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter. My little home on the internet is called Rose Cottage because of my love for gardening, roses, and all things romantic and Victorian. Welcome.
I'm a North Carolina girl and I love sharing North Carolina links and information. I do medical transcription from home. My hobbies include making sweet little dolls from clay who are named and have their own stories to tell. I also make old-fashioned brooches. These are for sale in my Etsy shop.
For 13 years continuously, I homeschooled some or all of our four children, but the time came that our homeschool had to be closed. It was the end of a beautiful chapter in my life. I will always be a strong supporter of homeschooling and I will continue to review books and maintain my homeschool website, The Healthy Homeschool.
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.
