Happy New Year!
By , on January 1st, 2009
So today begins 2009. I know that really January 1st does not signify some extraordinary day where I wake up a new person, but it’s fun to start the year out with a thought, or a goal, regarding aspirations and desires for positive change.
I had fun choosing a word to represent my aspirations for 2009. I did settle on one.
cLaRiTy
Because it keeps coming back to my mind. In fact, lately I cannot keep that word out of my mind. Clarity is the condition of being clear. To steer a ship, one needs a clear course. To walk safely, one needs to clearly see the pathway. To do a job well, one needs clear instructions. To make good choices, one needs to be clear on the results that these choices might bring about.
More to come regarding clarity.

About Lynn
I am the mother of four delightful children: a 23-year-old son, a 20-year-old son, a 17-year-old son, and a bright and bubbly 13-year-old daughter. I share an apartment home with my 17-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter. My little home on the internet is called Rose Cottage because of my love for gardening, roses, and all things romantic and Victorian. Welcome.
I'm a North Carolina girl and I love sharing North Carolina links and information. I do medical transcription from home. My hobbies include making sweet little dolls from clay who are named and have their own stories to tell. I also make old-fashioned brooches. These are for sale in my Etsy shop.
For 13 years continuously, I homeschooled some or all of our four children, but the time came that our homeschool had to be closed. It was the end of a beautiful chapter in my life. I will always be a strong supporter of homeschooling and I will continue to review books and maintain my homeschool website, The Healthy Homeschool.

My Symphony
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.

Happy New Year Lynn!
I loved looking back at your monthly pictures… your blog, life style, humor and ideas are so inspiring and uplifting! In this world of doom, gloom and negativity…it is so NICE to have a happy place to tap into… and know there are others like you who just want to enjoy the good and simple things.
DON’T EVER STOP BLOGGING!!
I’m serious!
Your friend, Michele/ivy
Thanks Michele. I actually just decided to move the pictures to their own post — to separate them from my word for 2009! Just in case anyone wonders where they went.
Michele, I love your blog too. And same to you: Don’t ever stop blogging!
Big 2009 Hugs,
Lynn

Natalie, thank you so much for your nice comments. I’m so sorry about the music! I’ve put it back on. I like it too. I did take it down to work on it and just got busy.
Best wishes,
Lynn
