This is something we are going to have to go see since we are so close. Our kids both read a book named Juan de Pareja about a slave who was taught to paint by Diego Velazquez. The both loved the book and when we investigated a little, we found that Velazquez was a very big influence on Norman Rockwell. We could actually see the similarities in style in their paintings.
