Thanks, Marqueta. We need to "get busy" and play with the doll house this week. Last week, with all else going on, we didn't really do much with it.

Amber, I love Reading Rainbow. It's one of the few things on TV that's worth watching, IMHO. Slavery is a sad and difficult topic. I like that there are books to help introduce that part of history to young children.

Hey Ken. The Lamberts have produced a simply wonderful curriculum. I am so glad I found it the first year we started homeschooling. At the time, Daniel was 10, Joseph 7, John 4 and Michaela a newborn, so it's been around here for a long time, even though some years our medical problems and my work schedule kept me from homeschoolig. Five In A Row has really changed the way I look at books! Michaela will be moving into Beyond Five In A Row soon. Volume 4 was just so rich, I didn't want Michaela to miss it!

Hey Lynn, I just spent some time going through the Five In a Row website. It looks like a stellar way to do homeschool. I wish I would have known about this when our kids were little. We are huge Homer Price fans and this is the first curriculum we have seen that includes that. We also read all the Henry Reed books (illustrated by McCloskey).

Reading Rainbow did air Follow the Drinking Gourd today. We watched and got teary eyed. It was my 8 year old's first look at slavery. She was very sad! I am glad you posted about Mr. Lambert. Five in a Row IS a wonderful curriculum!!

Dear Lynn,

Thank you for this post-I just ordered a Five in a Row book on Amazon, because I was already there buying other books, but I'll have to go visit their site.
I'm glad the surgery went well for him.
We'll have to go visit your dollhouse, too! My girls really love it.

Love,
