About Lynn
I am the mother of four delightful children: a 23-year-old son, a 20-year-old son, a 17-year-old son, and a bright and bubbly 13-year-old daughter. I share an apartment home with my 17-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter. My little home on the internet is called Rose Cottage because of my love for gardening, roses, and all things romantic and Victorian. Welcome.
I'm a North Carolina girl and I love sharing North Carolina links and information. I do medical transcription from home. My hobbies include making sweet little dolls from clay who are named and have their own stories to tell. I also make old-fashioned brooches. These are for sale in my Etsy shop.
For 13 years continuously, I homeschooled some or all of our four children, but the time came that our homeschool had to be closed. It was the end of a beautiful chapter in my life. I will always be a strong supporter of homeschooling and I will continue to review books and maintain my homeschool website, The Healthy Homeschool.

My Symphony
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.

Oh, my goodness! I am drooling… yum!!
Thank you! I was just thinking the other day that with the chickens arriving soon, I need to start introducing the girls to quiche
We’ll be trying this recipe soon
Hi Lynn,
I’ve not been able to visit for awhile and Wow! so much has gone on!
Happy B-lated Birthday to John.
Please tell Princess that I appluad her choice of color and the arrangement in of furniture is awesome. I can just picture the two of you crafting your hearts out!
Lynn your sketches are really evolving what a wonderful way to spend a half hour.
I noticed you had a bit of an awakening with your Hamlet study.
You are so wise to move slowly. There is so much to be gleened from this play. I told you you’d get hooked! Can’t wait to hear more.
As we are not eating meat during this season your quiche recipe is appreciated.
Hope everyone is feeling better.
Have a terrific day!
Diane
Oh Lynn! Guess what R8 and I found in our front flower bed this afternoon…some green shoots of our irises!! In February…in NY!!
I noticed the leaves of one were green and new at the bottom and dead on the top so I hope they last until real spring. It seems awfully early.
but I had to share! We also found some green weeds growing under our water table. it was upside down and acting like a green house I guess.
Must be the warm sun and slightly longer days waking things up. But don’t worry. Snow is on tap for tomorrow night and temps well below freezing after that.
Heather
You have inspired Kelly with this post. Maybe we can talk her into trying this out this weekend.
Thanks, Sandra. It’s really good with venison. Yum.

Michelle, chickens!!!! I want chickens.
Diane, thank you. We are loving Shakespeare I think we’ll be all done some time in March – maybe late March!
Heather, that’s so exciting!! Don’t you just love seeing green?
Ken, just don’t put ground paper in, okay?
