You know what helps me, right?  Yes.  Goodwill.  How easy is that?

Tuesday morning I had to run over to Wal-Mart and get some things we were out of (seems we’re always out of something) and you KNOW I had to go by Goodwill.  It’s like there’s a great big magnet in the front of my van and another great big magnet at Goodwill’s door.  I just can’t stop myself from screeching into their parking lot and going in.  ;)

Did you see the pretty containers in the first picture?  We are using those to organize the craft things in Michaela’s room:  markers, paint brushes, pencils, etc.  And just look at the little overall shorts I found for gardening.   They fit very loosely and modestly and I think are fine for working in my garden.   I think they would even be cute with leggings underneath, which I’ll probably try and let you know about later.  You know how I love to garden in skirts.   (Exciting stuff around here, I tell ya.)

Look at this long J.Jill skirt.

I just love little containers.  The Christmas container is going into my storage armoir that I cleaned out not too long ago.  I’ll use it for something pretty.   The little tin with the sheep on it was new in its wrapper and has a beautiful bar of wool fat soap in it.

How pretty is that!  And it smells so good.

I love the big white shabby basket above.  It will be great for books or magazine or stuff of any kind.  And going back up to the Scholastic Nature Guides book, I love this little book!  (Well, it’s not so little.)

There’s information about crocodiles and aligators and swamps.

And how-to tips for keeping a nature journal.

Even information on city children finding nature all around them.  This will be a great book for Princess of the Universe to read from today while I am working.

I love you, Goodwill.

  • I too love the Thrift Store. YOu got some great bargains and finds.

  • Dear Lynn,

Ahh, the enticing allure of thrifty goodies! It’s hard to resist, isn’t it? My only difficulty is not buying too much and then coming home and wondering where I’m going to put it!

The book looks like a great deal, and wool fat soap, wow!

    Great finds,

    Love,

  • Went to Goodwill last night and thought of you. I wasn’t so good at finding things though! Maybe a little rushed having a teen with me that didnt’ find what he wanted? I need to take you shopping with me!

  • Thanks, MamaHen. I have found so many great deals for us through the years, I’m so happy we have thrift stores around here.

Marqueta, I have the same problem! The soap is special!

Michele, thanks! I was happy to find these things.

Leslie, we would have so much fun! I don’t do as well with the children with me here. They are either ready to go or pulling on me to get me to another part of the store. :)

    Lynn
