Do You Feel It?
Written by admin on March 7th, 2009Yesterday in the garden, it was as if this little cherub…

was asking me, “do you feel the sun on your face? Doesn’t it feel good?”
Yes, I do. And yes, it does.
Written on a page in my HOME NOTEBOOK yesterday:

And I did plant three bulbs on my lunch break yesterday! I went outside, and for 30 minutes was in a world far away from my transcription work desk.
Look at the dogwood tree.

Come closer.

Closer.

What do you imagine? Can’t you just picture this tree covered in glorious buttery-soft blooms? Blooms that are covered in such amazing markings and features that they could inspire work for a whole school day for a 10-year-old Princess of the Universe and her mommy?
Ahhh, spring is getting here. It really is time to plan and prepare.

The daffodils are lovely. Would you even guess that they were covered in snow earlier in the week? The clay pots call out to be filled with some italian herb and set at the edge of a sunny pathway or on a warm brick step, to be admired and used.

Hyacinth. (Note to self: you need more of these. And where did the snowdrops go this year? You need more of those too.)

Helleborus. (More notes to self: you need more of these as well, in different colors. You must go back to Fairview Garden Center and SHOP for them. )

Little cherub in the shade, I understand. The sun will shine on you as well. Just hang on. I’ve been hanging on. Let’s hang on together, shall we? I’ll be back out to see you today.

Do you have a little spot of earth in which to plant? A tiny spot will do! A little work in the earth yields great return. A porch, or a step, or a sunny window sill — any of these can be a little garden paradise.
Can you guess where I’ll spend my breaks and lunch today?
Have a lovely Saturday. We all only have today.
Lynn
