Today was a field trip day. Yes, I’m exhausted, but glad that I went. And we have one more field trip yet to round out the school year.

This is a tulip poplar bloom I picked up as we headed into the woods around Camp Chestnut Ridge. The forest floor was covered in these in spots.

The group participated in the short ropes course. It was awesome. Aside from all the physical activity involved, the children had to think their way through assignments. One involved a rope, an imaginary boulder and Indiana Jones. The children had to figure out a way to transfer their team from point A to point B with just a rope and a set of obstactles they had to overcome. I loved the way this made everyone really think and work as a team.

She made it. That’s my girl!
Right now we are enjoying some popcorn from the hot air popper with real butter and some ranch seasoning. Yum.
Happy Thursday Evening,
Lynn

What an awesome looking fieldtrip! I bet the kids loved being physical in nature!
Your rabbits are adorable. Love the name, Basil. Tommie is getting another 4H show rabbit, and already picked out the name Bomber.
Our tulips are blooming and rhubarb is growing incredibly fast!
I love your purple chair and pansy throw on the back… what a nice place to curl up and read…especially on a rainy spring afternoon!
Your pal, Michele/ivy
That looks WAY fun. It surely looks like you have found a great field trip group.
Dear Lynn,
I’ve never seen a tulip poplar; thank you for sharing a picture of one. Their blossoms would probably get torn to shreds in this neck of the woods, in the wind!
The ropes course looks like a lot of fun, and good for thinking skills.
Love,
Marqueta
Michele, it was great! I would like to swing on those ropes myself! I would love to talk with you more about show rabbits. Micheala and I have talked about the fair. I need to check into 4H.
Ken, we are in an amazing HS group. The fieldtrips are so very well thought out and there are a lot of very involved moms in the group.
Marqueta, they have pretty flowers, way up in the sky. I wish I had room for one!
Lynn
How COOL! Looks like a great time to be had.
