Annie

Written by admin on September 26th, 2009

I know we were going to get a corgi, but forget all that.  Okay?  The more we talked about finding a corgi, the more Michaela talked about beagles and their ears.

And that is how we came to get Annie.  Michaela likes the beagle’s long droopy ears and their sweet little faces.  I bought a book on Thursday about beagles and Michaela began reading.

Yesterday Michaela said, “I know what I can do for school today.  I can research beagle puppies on line.”  Then she looked at me with that look.  Moms and dads, you know the look whereof I speak.

Entranced by that look, I murmured, “Okay.”

First she did her math work and then she sat at a desk next to mine and looked for puppies on line.  She hit the jackpot when she found Hawbranch Beagles.  She read pretty much the entire website.   And Friday night we drove two hours (well, three if you count the traffic jam and the nonexistant exit on our Mapquest printout) one way to get Annie.

It would seem that Michaela and Annie frequently have matching expressions.

But isn’t the saying that dogs look like their owners?

Little baby Annie.  Or Annie Banannie as we call her.

Annie is very playful and has worn herself out playing with her new chew toy.  She has already found her favorite spot for a potty which would be my office.  But it’ll all be fine, right?  (Keep telling me that, okay?)  Annie is SWEET AS CAN BE.  She is beautiful.  Did you know that Annie means beautiful?

‘m sure you’ll be seeing a LOT more of Annie.

Today’s a work day for me.  Micheala and Annie are napping in Michaela’s bed.  I think Annie already feels at home.

Marqueta, we are always on the same “wave length” some way somehow. :)

Emily and Caroline, we are just loving our little Annie. The last time I saw Annie she was wearing a Bitty Baby T shirt and wrapped in a blanket, asleep in Michaela’s arms.

Jeanie, she is adorable! Thank you. :)

Lynn, I just found your website a few days ago. I will definitely be a frequent visitor. Love all of the beautiful garden pictures you share, and will look forward to seeing how Annie gets along with all of the creatures in the garden!

Susan, I know we’ll love Annie. Michaela is treating her like a newborn baby. :) As far as the office mishap, I’m sure we’ll have many more, but Michaela was successful in getting Annie to go outside three times today!! Yay! With all of your animal experience, I wish you could get hold of her and teach her for awhile!!

Pam, thank you so much for leaving a comment. Yes, it will be very interesting to watch Annie with the creatures. She’s met one neighborhood cat today who purred and purred, but Oreo and Cookie are both skeptical. Annie hasn’t seen any big insect creatures yet!

Valerie, thank you. So true. Annie is getting STAR treatment. :)

    Hi Lynn,
Annie is adorable! Hope your feeling better. Beagles are our favorites too. If you check my blog you will find a posting featuring our beagle. Buddy is a Blue tick beagle. The AKC states that only 17 per cent of the beagles in the US are blue ticks.
Michaela might enjoy the American Kennel Club site. Research!
Have a puppy cuddling kind of day!

How adorable, both your daughter and lil’ Annie! They surely look like two peas in a pod!

I really enjoy your blog… as a ‘later’ bloggy friend I’ve finally had time to rummage through your past posts. You are such a lovely mom and wife. You are an inspiration to those who desire to be a keeper of the home.

I do hope you are feeling better concerning your thyroid. It’s such a wonderful blessing that the medicine has helped you to regain back strength.

I really don’t like to take medicine myself, I’ve struggled with it in the past thinking I should always be able to use natural remedies (especially as a Christian) but, then by His grace in due time I was able to accept that a prescribed medicine from the doctor was how the Lord was choosing to help me after all.

Now I’ve come to a different spot in my thoughts… real soon I shall begin to taper off the RX and now I feel a bit nervous about that, lol! This is what I’ve wanted all along and I feel a bit nervous- huh? I need to keep before me that the Lord is ever present with me and it is His desire for good in my life, I shall trust his outcome either way. (thanks for letting me share)

Many blessings to you on this wonderful Sunday morn !

How sweet! We got our daughter a toy poodle last year for Christmas and we love her very much. It took almost the entire year to get her potty trained. Sorry to rain on your parade.
    Blessings

Diane M, thank you! I will be over to visit you soon! I’ve been very busy and not feeling too great of late, but I’m playing blog catch-up soon. :)

Stacy, Michaela loves beagles too!! :)

Deanna, thank you for your comment! I wish you well in sorting out what to do. I know it’s not easy.

Diane, thanks for being honest!! I know it’s going to be a long road. Beagles are very strong-willed! But I’ve had some strong-willed boys, so hopefully we can get through this! :)

Ken, thanks! Annie really is beautiful. She’s a sweetie too! Michaela loves her and she thinks Michaela is her mama!

    Lynn
