Hey Lynn, I miss your dad to. I think of him often. I also think of my Dad on Veteran’s Day also. It would realy aggravate him that we would be off from school on Veteran’s Day and he had to work. He would say “I am the veteran”. Love reading your blog. Hope you have a great weekend.

Jenn, it’s hard when a family member is in a nursing home. My dad was in one for the last five years of his life. He was just too sick to bring home, but I cherished the time I could spend with him there. I’m glad you visit your grandfather.

Diane, you have nerves of steel! Go ahead on! Thanks for thinking my dad was handsome. Most women thought he was, much to my mother’s dismay!

I am actually thinking of taking the doors off the lower cupboards in my kitchen and replacing them with curtains. The doors just never shut properly and so they never look well. I have the fabric I’d like to use and everything… the only thing I am lacking is the nerve;)

First, your shelving with the curtain is darling. I could use that idea in my own home someday! Second, my grandfather, who is in a nursing home, served in WWII also. I cherish my time with him whenever we are able to break away. I hope you have a peace-filled week.

Dear Lynn,
As you enjoy a Winds-day we are enjoying a cold but sunny day.
I really enjoy those little fixes that warm special corners of my home and your curtain transformation is perfect. (reuse, recycle,recreate…)
Most importantly on this day is the recognition of all the men and women who have served our country.
