Dear Readers,
I thought you might want an animal update, and if you don’t, well, would you like a cup of tea?

First of all, the bun buns. Inquiring minds want to know, does Coco have two ears or just one. I know the picture in my sidebar is misleading. Coco asked me to put that picture of her up there so that people would feel sorry for her and ask questions. She is just an attenion hog, I tell you.

Actually Coco has two very fine, very large ears. She is just fond of laying one of them straight back. She especially did this when she was little. I don’t know, maybe she’s just camera shy. As you can see, her babies, Midnight and Boomerang, are getting quite big! It has been very cold lately, down into the 20s at night. The bunnies have been given extra bedding and we have to check their water frequently to thaw it.

Enter kitty kitty, or Elijah as some of the neighborhood kids call him. Her. Him. Uh, I am just not sure about this cat. Actually, it is a tom cat, but he is so sweet, I sometimes say she. He loves to come around when we feed the bunnies. He actually jumped into the cage with the bunnies one morning when we had the door open and no one panicked. The bun buns seemed fine with it. I guess they know a docile cat when they see one.

Now, how about that Oreo? Doesn’t she look great? She’s staying totally inside right now, but we carried her out to get a picture in some natural light, without the flash. Her head is healing well and her eye looks fantastic. There is even some light fuzz growing over her eyelid.

Here is an inside picture of Oreo looking like she looks most of the time right now. Her tongue sticks out most of the time, but she yawned really big the other day (actually huge) and I saw the wire runing across the inside of her mandible and under her tongue, so I’m thinking she may keep her tongue in her mouth again once the wire is out in a few more weeks.

Princess of the Universe and Oreo both with their tongues out. I don’t know. It’s kind of cute on Oreo, don’t you think? She just needs to quit drooling on my furniture. Actually I think copies of these pictures need to go to Dr. Mac for his bulletin board, don’t you?

And last but not least, and I cannot emphasize that part about not least, enough, is Annie Banannie. She is spoiled rotten. She is the essence of spoiled rotten. She is the epitome of T totally spoiled rotten beagle. And I have no one to blame but myself. I wonder if there is a support group for people like me?
Happy Saturday Evening

Sweet Lynn – I’m so thrilled to see how well your Oreo looks now – a miracle (and a wonderful vet) for sure!
I’m hoping you are doing better also – I think of you often during these busy days.
Hi Lynn,
Everyone looks great-you certainly have a crop of cuties! I am so happy for your sweet kitty-Oreo looks amazing. All that rest on the comfy couch hasn’t hurt either!
Hope your feeling better, too.
Have a great day,
Diane
Can’t believe I inspired a portions of your blog. And so happy your bunny had TWO ears!
I love catching up on your blog Lynn, Oreo is looking great! So good to see. Loved the update on all the other members of the family.
Dear Lynn,
Who grows faster, animal babies or people babies? They both seem to shoot up over night!
I’m so glad that Oreo is improving so well; I’ll bet she’ll be excited when the wires are gone (Our cat Liberty just jumped up on the desk to get a closer look at all your pictures.)!
Love,
Marqueta
I’ll take a cup of tea and an animal update as well.
Oreo does look great! Looks like she’s healing up nicely. What a relief to you all, I’m sure.
I have a theory about Coco’s ear, especially since you said she laid it back more often when she was younger. Perhaps she was positioned in the womb in just such a way, giving it the tendency to do that. We used to call our daughter “No.1 Baby” because her index fingers were always pointing up…in almost every picture….so I’m convinced that was her favorite pose in the womb. Just my little theory! Have a blessed day in the Lord.
Lynn,
Your daughter is just gorgeous in these photos! Do I spot the potential for a future heart breaker?
Thank you Mary! I hope you are feeling well these days too. The days are busy indeed! Whew!
Diane, the rest has helped Oreo tremendously and she is getting stronger and stronger! Thanks.
Becky, I knew you’d be pleased.
Shirley, thank you so much! It makes me so happy to see Oreo getting better.
Marqueta, they both grow way too fast for me. Sigh. I hope Liberty enjoyed the pictures!
Emily, one cup of tea coming right up! That’s an interesting theory you have, and maybe exactly right! I’d never thought of it.
Allison, she is pretty, but with three big brothers she can roughhouse with the best of them!
My Audrey is spoiled rotten too. I’ll join your support group…My name is Jeanne and I spoil my dog…
Orea looks marvellous, and her little tongue looks so cute!
Those can’t be your little new bunnies! I did not know they grew so quickly. I am glad to see your kitty is doing better, too. We have a totally spoiled rotten Siamese, so perhaps it is a group that needs to be started for all pet owners who spoil their pets beyond hope.
Jenn
Jeanne, thanks!! I think we’ll make a great start of that support group! Audrey and Annie. What a pair.
Jenn, yes, aren’t they growing fast? I’ll have to start on another cage, which I don’t mind doing at all. I love to try and built things. Maybe this time I’ll use a level.
You’ll make the third member of our support group, and we’ve got a great start!!
