Isn’t She Lovely

My dear readers, we did get some snow yesterday and last night, and it was beautiful, but I am afraid if you love, love, love snow, North Carolina is not the place to find it in plenty.  It snowed to beat the band for about an hour, then it rained.  Then nothing.  Then it snowed again and was stunningly beautiful, the flakes were so large and the snow so thick.  And then it rained again.

It was a wet, slushy snow; the kind that to make a snow angel in would soak your clothes and you’d have to go straight inside to recuperate.  Despite the mushy mess, however, we did get to see Annie’s reaction to her first-ever snow.

Upon first seeing the bright white ground, Annie stopped dead-still and did not show any signs of wanting to go out.  Once outside, she seemed in a big hurry to get back inside.

The second time out Annie was braver and, I suppose, had realized that the snow would not hurt her, other than freezing her sweet little beagle toes.

I just delighted in seeing her beautiful coloring and light green eyes against a backdrop of glistening snow.  She is a lovely dog.  And sweet.  And when Michaela’s not within earshot, I tell Annie that she’s really my baby and not anyone else’s baby, and she licks my nose in agreement.

  • Oh Lynn,

Snow is wonderful! Your little puppy is just the cutest thing. My dog was bred in the city, and now that we live in the country, he has a really tough time enjoying the outdoors ;) especially when it is cold and icy!

    Merry Christmas dear friend,

    maria

  • Dear Lynn,

I’m sorry the snow didn’t linger~at least it was pretty while it lasted, eh? Annie was probably not too sorry, though :) . And from the video, it looks like Oreo must be feeling lots better! :)

    Love,

    Marqueta

  • Hi Lynn, Annie’s face is just too cute! Her face mirrors perfectly what must be going though her mind. She clearly is not to sure about all this cold white stuff – lol.

May you and your precious family have a very blessed Christmas

    Blessings
    Shirley

YOUR baby is beautiful…I love her eyes…
We do not get much snow here either, even though we are in NW Washington…and when snow comes to our area, our particular home USUALLY gets missed…last year though was BLISS…we got about a foot and a half….it is 50 degrees here right now at 7 am…so I think snow is out of the picture for this Christmas…the strange thing is though, that we had single digit temps about two weeks ago…brrrr…there was no moisture in the air then though, so it was JUST COLD…

We were very sad that we got now snow on our side of town. It is taken quite a bit of effort to get caught back up on your blog, but now that our busyness is diminishing a little, I hope to visit over here more. You just keep going, and going with this great blog.

  • Maria, I think city dogs are special. :) Annie will certainly not be a country dog, that’s for sure. I wish, but for now she’ll have to do with a tiny yard.

Marqueta, Oreo really is doing much better, even in real life! ;) We received your package yesterday and it was so wonderful! You are full of charm and it shows in everything you make and do. Love you.

Shirley, I think Annie is especially pretty too, but I think we feel that way about all our pets. I hope you all have wonderful holidays as well!

Oh, Carrie, it does not sound like you’ll have a white Christmas, but you that’s okay! ;) Some years we are in short-sleeved T-shirts around here at Christmastime. Thank you for dropping in!

Ken, I think everyone is way busy. I know we are here, and I’m working a bit extra today and tomorrow and Thursday to be off on Friday. Sigh. Thanks for your comment. :) Don’t worry about catching up here. It’s just nice to hear from you when you can. I know I really have not had time to visit all the blogs I like to visit and really read everything. This is just a fun outlet for me!

    Happy Holidays to All!
