Rosemary

Yesterday was a work day, but I had the unexpected pleasure of a morning off due to work being low.  Doctors take time off too, you know.

I took a walk outside and cut rosemary to season chicken breasts.  Browned in olive oil with the rosemary and coarse ground pepper, the chicken breasts were then covered with water and cooked all day in the crock pot.

Then I worked on my pins.  Outside was so dreary and gray, it seemed good to be inside working on something cheery.

Oh the bright colors in this one!

Today is a work day, again, and I feel sure there will be plenty of work to keep me busy for 8 hours.  But the bunnies are fed, Annie has been walked and I’ve looked over my brooches this morning, dreaming and planning and thinking of sitting down tonight to do a bit more work.

Have a lovely Saturday!

  • They are so lovely Lynn,
I love the old fashioned feel of them…
One of my goals for this year is to lose some weight and when I do, I am thinking about dressing more like the patterns I shared with you…like the Jane Austen style…I just love the ladylike look of it all….
Have a great day…wish you could be making brooches instead of working…
    Love,
    C~

  • Ah rosemary, my favorite herb. I just put some in a vegetable soup I concocted this morning. “There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance.” I envy you your beautiful bush!

What a sweet brooch…it goes perfectly with your old-fashioned style of dressing. Love it! :)

  • Dear Lynn,

How glad I am that you had a bit of a break! How nice that doctors do take time off now and then. :)

Wow, your rosemary is a tree! She doesn’t overwinter here, and I always manage to kill her off in pots, so I’ll have to enjoy yours vicariously.

The brooch pins are coming along just beautifully; I have a little ceramic heart that says “Believe”, which someone left us anonymously after Victoria died. It’s amazing how much that one little word can mean.

    I hope you’re having a glorious weekend.

    Love,

    Marqueta

  • Dear Lynn,

How pleasant that you were able to have some time off ;-)

Oh to live in warmer states – my rosemary does wonderfully in the spring and summer – but not winter :(

    Have a blessed weekend!

  • Hi Lynn,
The pins are so pretty. What a wonderful project. I can’t wait to see more! I think I have decided on my word for the year.
I’ve chosen the word, “Faith”. Faith in God will bring the unfolding of all things good.
    And so the journey continues…
Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
    Hugs,
    Diane
PS. I have posted the Victorian Dollhouse I’ve been working on-stop and take a peek!

  • Carrie, I love those style dresses too. I might have told you my mom is working on one and it is so pretty.

Emily, one of my favorite herbalists, she’s know as Juliette of the Herbs, loved Rosemary.

And yes, the pins do fit with my style, and hopefully others will like them too.

Marqueta, the rosemary does well here, though the last couple of days it’s gotten down to about 13 and I hope my rosemary will be okay. I have already had a birdbath to spontaneously break this morning. Sigh. Your ceramic heart sounds very sweet.

Maria, I love the NC climate, though lately it’s been bitter cold!

Diane, thank you for stopping by! It’s a work day for me, but I’ll be over as soon as I can. Can’t wait to see! I like the word you’ve chose. We all need more faith.

    Hugs,
    Lynn
