Oh, Jeanne, my family really won't be able to live with me after this. ;)

Shirley, thank you so much. I do think about the fact that I am surrounded by nice thrift stores. I don't take it for granted and I'm glad you left your comment, because it a needful reminder that not all areas have this kind of resource! And the knitting? I do intend to learn. I found a good, old book at the thrift store with very straightforward instructions. I am making a little blanket for the doll house and nearly done with it and then will learn another stitch!

Lynn, I love seeing these posts! It is wonderful to see how other's dress with femine grace. You are an inspiration! I only wish that thrift stores were in abundance here in South Africa! Instead we have to pay retail prices for everything. You have inspired me to really embrace my femine side - thank you.
Blessings
Shirley
PS. Knitting is SO rewarding[ane easy!] I really want to encourage you to find someone who will teach you.

Marqueta, you are so sweet. I am finding that snow alters clothing choices! :) Still as pretty as one can make them, but boots and sweaters are a must!

Emily, it does look like a bright bandana! I agree with you totally over being overwhelmed with selections and prices in retail stores. I do shop them, but very selectively!

Dana, thank you so much! I'm glad you commented! I love MaryJane's Farm and Tasha Tudor also. Both strong women doing what their hearts were singing to them to do.

Jenn, my hubby may not be able to live with me after this week, I've had so many kind comments! Thank you. ;) I, too, am shocked at retail prices. I know that people need to be paid for their labor and things must be fair, but I went shopping recently for tights and the first pair I picked up was 38.00. I was stunned. I put them right back on the shelf. I would have been TOTALLY paying for the name.

Connie, that is so smart. That's definitely the way to shop for kids, especially boys, who can run through jeans like nobody's business! I do donate back to the thrift stores whenever I can, but my boys never did have too much that was wearable once the three of them had worn it!

Jeanie, thank you so much! I am having fun with this series of posts! I'm glad you are enjoying them. I know what you mean about husbands being happy over thrift store shopping. My husband has told me many times that he appreciates my willingness to shop there and how much I manage to do with it. :)

Lynn~ You are so beautiful, inside and out. Your posts inspires me like so many others to want to go Thrifting :-) I know from personal experience how rewarding it is to come home with some wonderful finds. (It makes my husband happy too)! I love your long flowing skirt, gorgeous blouse, and the pin is just beautiful. Love your outfits so far. Can't wait to see more!

i am so enjoying seeing photos of you all week in your pretty skirts and things!

i love thrift stores and rummage sales. as a matter of fact, i was just telling a friend the other day that i have NEVER bought a new pair of jeans for either of my boys (who are 6 and 9 years old). and believe me, they wear jeans almost all the time!! they have mostly come from rummages, costing 50 cents to maybe 2 dollars, and hand-me-downs from a friend. LOVE IT!

and good news....there is talk of another thrift store opening up near me, which is where i find most of my clothes. there is such great variety, and who doesn't love the prices?!

hope you're having an enjoyable week!

I agree with the others. This outfit is very cheerful. If we did not want "more of you" we'd not be reading your blog. :-) I went to 4 thrift stores yesterday, so I also know their appeal. They spoil me. I am often shocked at retail prices now. Can't wait to see what you post next.

What a cheerful ensemble, Lynn! The skirt reminds me of a bright bandana, and the blouse is oh, so dainty and feminine. Suits you perfectly, and the pin is the icing on the cake. :)

You make me want to run out to the thrift shop. It's so much more gratifying to find something special second-hand than to be overwhelmed by the pricey selections at a department store or the mall.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Dear Lynn,

Now how could we ever get too much of you? :) Such pretty, feminine finds~Hopefully the weather will let you wear them again soon.

The lady on the pin looks very content.
