Taking one day at a time. I think I always need help with this. Why is it so easy to drag around the past, like a ball and chain? Or to live in fear over the future? I don’t know, but I want to just take one day at a time and be content.

Saturday and Sunday were beautiful days here! Temps in the 50s and 60s, bright sun. The birds were singing a come-on-spring chorus and I loved it! I stole outside for a few minutes on Saturday morning to sit in the sun and read. The steps get so warm, it’s a favorite spot.
I’m realizing more and more, when you get a sunny moment you must take it!
Yesterday was rainy, rainy, and gray. Today, while there is no rain falling, it is gray outside again. I am trying really hard to be of the optimistic opinion, however, that this only means more flowers come spring.
My day today is full, for 19 years ago today I was giving birth to that little fella you see sitting in the sink.

Joseph was our second son, and today he turns 19! Where did the years go? Anyway, I asked him what he wanted to eat tonight, and I’m talkin’ a meal and dessert.
“Pizza? Homemade? But can you make about six of them so I can eat all I want?
Of course.
“And cheese cake?”
Why sure.
“Uhhhh. Fudge?”
At this point The Carpenter got into a huddle with Joseph and noted that mom could make a perfectly-chocolate chocolate cake, so Joseph compromised.
I suppose I’ll be grocery shopping this morning and cooking this afternoon.
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday.

Happy Birthday to your son! What a wonderful mama to make all that food for him. It’s snowing here-it never snows like this here in central Texas. Last Saturday everyone was in shorts and flip flops! Fear over the future? The scripture on the tag I sent you is what I ALWAYS try to live by. Sunny days to you Lynn!
Wow, you really do have it warm down there! We had a big snow yesterday and I had to buy salt for my icy steps… I fell down them on my way out to church Sunday morning.
I’ll just think of you sitting on your warm sunny steps and dream of my own warm days to come☺
Dear Lynn,
A happy, happy birthday to Joseph! Nineteen years; wow! That will be AnnaMarie in six years, how scary!
You must have all sorts of help around the place, with such strapping young men.
It’s been sunny here too, but highs in the 20s~I’m glad it’s warmed up so much for you there. And think how much more you’ll appreciate the sun the next time he shows up, after the clouds!
Have a fun time cooking up love for your boy (I’m sure Michaela will be right there helping, too).
Love,
Marqueta
Your weather sounds the same as ours here in North Georgia. Warm and sunny over the last few days, but now cooler and gray.
I’m also trying to remain optimistic about it. I just keep telling myself, spring is only a month away…and there will be flowers!
I have never been so effected by the lack of sunshine before! Must be my age. A good book/sunshine and your blog make my day! Sheila
Happy Birthday Joseph! Hope it’s a good one! Miss you all!
Happy Birthday to Joseph!
I envy your front porch, 60 degrees, in the sun, laid back moments.
But the thing I relate to the most is the one day at a time attitude.
I make it a quest daily to connect with God and do his will for me today. We cannot change the past and the future is yet to be realized so the best part of life is today! Love it, embrace it, and live it fully.
Have a wonderful Wednesday,
Diane
Dear Lynn,
HELP!! I was trying to purchase some of your lovely pins off of Etsy and am having issues. Please contact me and let me know what to do. I usually use Paypal and have no issues. Also am wondering if you will be making another pin like your latest. Love, love, love your creativity and the beautiful results thereof…
Have a blessed day.
Jen
may he have a happy birthday, and may YOU have a blessed day in the kitchen–hope it’s filled with fun and many many sweet memories–from the past and for the future!
Dana, thank you! Joseph had a wonderful birthday. Indeed, the verse you noted is a beautiful and powerful verse, and I love Phil. 4:8 as well. Thank you for that reminder.
Diane, I’m sorry you fell! I hope you are okay. Hugs to you. We did have a couple of gorgeous days! It’s been very chilly and gray and rainy now for a few. Spring’s not too far off. <3
Thank you, Marqueta! Yes, Michaela was right there to help.
Joseph is a huge help to me. He really is. I could not ask for a better son. And the 20s? I can't take too much of that. xoxoxo
Tanya, I'm telling myself the same thing!! Just hang on!
Sheila, thank you so much for your sweet words! I do love the sunshine. I planted some new bulbs last fall and I'm just so anxious to see them in the bright sun! Won't be too long, I hope!
Jessamy, we miss you too! I'll be sure and give Joseph your birthday message. As I've told you many times, I can't look at baby pictures of Joseph without thinking of you. You were such a tremendous help to me! Thank you. I love you!
Diane M, it's so true that we all only have today. I try to always remember that. It's not easy some days, but we have to keep trying, don't we!
Jen, thank you so much! I sent you an e-mail. I actually have some pins to list today. I never got them on over the weekend. Sigh. It's just always so busy around here!
April, thank you! I did do all of the baking I said, including 6 pizzas! They were yummy! Topped with venison sausage, bacon, pepperoni, chicken, onion, bell peppers (only on two of them) and plenty of cheese! Yum.
