Walk with me this bright spring morning?

The garden has been beautifully bright and cheery these past few days. The birdsong is continuous. The literally hundreds of shades of green soothe a part of me that gets sad and blue during the winter. Oh I make it, but barely I think.

The various kinds of daffodils continue to bloom. These pretty white ones are in the spotlight at the moment.

All along the walkways, the blues come out: hyacinth, violets, creeping speedwell…

It’s the time of the year to pull out the herb books and remind myself what would be good to drink fresh in teas and infusions.

Call me crazy, but I let the dandelions share my tulips’ bed. I admire the tulips and eat the dandelions. It’s a good setup.

Picking nettles. Call me crazy (you can keep calling me crazy if you want to) but there’s something nice about getting one or two stings about the wrists. Did you know the the stinging hairs contain many chemicals including a powerful histamine?

Awwww. Let’s stop and talk to the baby bunnies! Let’s whisper to them and tell them what a good mommy they have (Midnight really likes to hear that). The little bunnies are jumping around now and are eating greens with their mommy. Did you know a pet store has agreed to buy them from Michaela? I am quite pleased with her business skills.

I planted a bunch of new tulips last year. I am so glad I did that.

Tulip. Bright. Very bright. Get-your-attention bright.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and we had desperate times this week. With the arrival of baby bunnies, Coco had to be placed in a small cage. It was WAY too small for her. I tolerated it for about a week while searching on Craig’s List for a cage and not finding one, and then Michaela and I broke down and closed in the bottom of the potting bench I made a few years back. I think it’s a win-win situation. I had nearly an instant bunny cage and Coco has room to run back and forth now and stretch her legs.

We put a little box in one end for her to get in or climb on, whichever she’s in the mood for.

Don’t throw useful things away. This cute little door used to be on an entertainment cabinet. I kept it thinking that it would someday have a purpose. I sawed it in half, took the wood out of the center and attached wire, and now it is Coco’s cute little doorway. Ahhh.

Let’s go back and hold a baby bunny. You know you want to. Well, I want to.

The chocolate vine is in bloom. You can smell it as soon as you enter the garden. It’s so sweet!
Thank you for walking with me. I’m working today, but it’s a delightful day to do anything! I’ve had my walk this morning to gather greens for the bunnies, I’ve had my hot tea, and even a trip to the park with my newest issue of Mary Jane’s Farm (thanks Mom) and more hot tea in hand, so that my daughter and her friend could burn off some energy.
It’s a good day. Practice gratitude.

Dear Lynn,
Oh, you poor girl! All you have are beautiful flowers and herbs coming up, while WE get to have a White Easter! Aren’t you jealous?
. It’s thirty-five degrees right now, with more snow in the forecast!
The bunnies are at the super-adorable stage; we’ll gladly hold one or two to give their mama a break.
I still don’t have any of Rosemary Gladstar’s books; I guess I’d better wait till the move before getting any! But I’ll read my MaryJane’s Farm along with you, anyway. And sip some hot tea.
Love,
Marqueta
Dear Marqueta, isn’t it horrible? I’m so jealous, I’m green.
I hope you are doing well! I wish you were here to hold a bunny or two. And you’ll have spring soon!
Lynn, beautiful pictures as always. I love the tulips. They’re my favorite flower.
Oh Lynn.. it was so relaxing just walking with you through your lovely garden. I really wish we were neighbors. You could encourage me in my positively heinous gardening skills and teach me about “infusions” and I could… well, I’m not quite sure what I could do for you, but I’m sure we’d think of something;)
♥hugs♥ and hopes that you have a lovely Monday!
Amazing garden pictures! Your new bunny cage is ingenious. And you could still use the top of it if you needed!
