The Skirt

My son John took some pictures for me in the garden.  (That sweet boy.)

It was all just for one reason:  so you could see the new thrift store skirt I bought along with the “ton” of other summer stuff I found the other day.  Actually it was just a few items — not really a ton, but a few items will get me through the summer and it’s a lot to me.

I’m plowing through the work day today.  Not feeling too great and cannot help but wonder what my TSH is as my eczema flared up over the weekend too.   Good thing I get it checked soon.

Enjoy this day!

  • That is a beautiful skirt… I love those sweet tucks. Or pleats. Or something. Whatever they are, they make for a very cute skirt☺

    I Love your skirt!!!!!!

  • Oh! I’m loving the skirt! How about showing us some of the other summer treasures you scooped up while thrifting? Hope you’re feeling better soon. Mich.

love the skirt….and even better you found it at the thrift store!! i picked up quite a few things already this summer at rummage sales…. mainly for the boys, but also for my husband and me. it’s the best way to shop!

  • Oh Lynn, it is sooo lovely! I wish I had such good luck at thrift store shopping! That’s a treasure! And I pray you are feeling well soon, too!

  • Hello Lynn,

Since you have experience with using Rosetta Stone, I would like to ask if it is a product that you would recomend? My husband and I are considering it to learn Spanish.

It’s quite pricey, any information that you can provide would be greately appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • Diane, thanks! This skirt is actually two layers. The outer one has ties underneath so that you can tie it up and give it those thingys — pleats or whatever! ;)

    Jessamy, thanks!

Michele, thank you! I’ll try to remember to share them little by little, as I dig them out!

Connie, I love thrift stores. I don’t know what we’d do without them!

Marla, thanks so much! I feel better today. We have good thrift stores here, and I donate faithfully as well as enjoy them faithfully! ;)

Tanya, thanks for your comment! I really liked the learning that I saw coming from Joseph’s use of Rosetta Stone, but he was studying Japanese and it is a little different from the other languages. There are no worksheets that we could print out due to the language being so different. (I called Rosetta Stone and talked with them about this as one of the things I did NOT like about the program.) It is an immersion program and I like the way it teaches. Most of the languages have the worksheets to go with the on-screen learning, so that won’t be a problem for the Spanish program. I did not use it personally, and Joseph was 17-18 when he used it, so he did a lot independently. I wish I could tell you more. I think it’s a good program, but you may want to get more opinions since we used it for Japanese and you are thinking about it for Spanish. In spite of its weaknesses, I still think it was worth the money for us. :)

I love your skirt, especially the pick-ups, as well as the your “new” white summer dress you were showing off in your post about your beautiful long, long hair. Since I had my two children (ages 1 and 2) I’ve been very tempted to cut my hair off, but you are an inspiration! Please keep blogging!

  • Very cute! You always find the best things! I need to go with you one day and learn how to take advantage of the thrift stores.

    Hugs

Leslie, thanks. I do like that skirt a lot. I love thrift stores — way too much. ;)
