Bongo Heels on a Spring Like Day

My Lovely Readers,

I missed you yesterday, but try as I might, I just never could pull a post together.  The day literally ran away from me.  Today, again, will be a long and busy day, but I thought I’d take a break and post something to catch up with you!

Friends, I have absolutely fallen in love with my new (to me) Bongo shoes.  In my humble opinion, this is one of the sole reasons (no pun intended) for thrifting.  I have invested 4 dollars in these shoes and have fallen so head-over-heels (again, no pun — ha ha) in love that these are shoes I will go out and splurge for at full price.  They are amazingly comfortable.  They give me the height that I love (I am naturally about 5 feet 7 inches), but it is not like walking on tiptoes all day!  I have worn them for two days now, done a lot of running around, and my feet and back feel great!

skirt, Rafaella, thrifted, 4 dollars, (you have seen before)
sweater, Lauren Jeans, thrifted, 4 dollars, (you have seen before)
pink and gray tights, new, Target clearance, 5 dollars
shoes, Bongo, thrifted, 4 dollars

Life the past few days has been busy, happy, JOYful, and just basically full of the time-and-chance types of things that make life what it is.  I had the chance to walk through The Wild Little Garden and I wanted to share a few of the spring-like pictures.  (Today is GORGEOUS!!!)

Daffodils and rusty garden ornament.

Hellebores.

Chickweed climbs up into a clay pot and spills out around the sides.

Weathered garden gate.

Weathered window edge.

Veronica pondside.

Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.

Now, I think I did tell you that I would bring back some pictures from recent outings!  I have lately had the chance to be back in my old hometown area in Moore County, North Carolina, home of lots of Scots and the longleaf pine.  Yeah.  Something about pine needles and sandy soil stir my heart like nothing else.  I have been looking at gardening centers and garden ideas there for planning a garden in that area, should life take me there once again.

I went into the Mellow Mushroom there to have lunch with some dear friends (because they have a dedicated gluten free area in their kitchen) and would you believe??? they had an Alice in Wonderland theme throughout the restaurant.  Get a load of our surroundings for lunch:

Maybe I don’t believe in signs, but it sure was comforting to know that Alice might be waiting for me in Southern Pines.

Must run and work!  ENJOY THIS DAY!

Good morning Lynn! Aren’t you lovely! I love your trip through the wild garden and it is lovely there pre-spring. Are you thinking of moving back to your hometown? I would love to move back to mine, it is not far away. I think too much heartache and too much water under the bridge here to stay forever. Well, any way, small things like your Bongos can make life easier, can’t they. Hugs Terry

    • Terry, good morning! Thanks so much! I enjoyed my quick garden walk-through. Still bitter-sweet, but it gets easier for me with each passing week. I am thinking that I will move back there to home. And will sure blog about the process! :) I know what you mean about heartache and water under the bridge. xoxo Oh, and Bongos have made me happy! I hope you have a perfectly GREAT Monday! Typing today? I am. Love, Lynn

  • The tights are to die for and wow, Alice heaven! Love it!
