Popcorn Is My Therapy and Vladimir My Entertainment

Let’s face it. I talk about Vladimir more than I do Lucy, but I love Lucy just as much as I love Vladimir. Lucy is quieter. She is shy. She likes to sleep UNDER the couch. Vladimir RULES the couch. Lucy does not eat as much. She’s a big 12 pounds. But Vladimir… Uh… He is about 16 or 17 pounds. He was 16 at last visit, but he feels heavier to me now. Think you’ll put him on a diet? He will claw the carpet up outside the closed bedroom doors until he gets a few more kibbles. I’m telling you, he is pretty much in charge.

Vlad sits atop the cat tower, scoping things out.
When I come near, Vlad takes notice.
Vlad grabs the back of my head with one paw and bites my hair. Maybe this is love?
Air-popped popcorn with real butter and salt.

Anyone who knows me knows that there are a few things I LOVE! Coffee. Popcorn. Slaw. Yes. Not necessarily in that order. I have been enjoying a bowl of air-popped popcorn every afternoon. I try not to put too much butter, but with real butter and salt, oh my goodness, what a yummy snack.

Here I go, running into the weekend. I have several new items to take to the shop this evening. I am preparing for tomorrow when the shop will be open all day. I have a few projects to work on this evening: an art book, some jewelry items. Jason and I have some rehearsing to do as well.

Do you have favorite snacks or drinks?

Enjoy this day!

  1. I am a fan of coffee, too! My favorite coffee ever, ever is called Texas Sunshine and it has – swoon – orange peel in it. I’ve only ever found it in the small town we lived in outside of Dallas, and my stash ran out in August, boooo hissss.

    1. Mamasmercantile, I love tea and shortbread cookies, but I pretty much have to avoid shortbread due to the gluten, though Henny Penny did get me some GF cookies for Christmas! Yum! xo Lynn

  2. Cats rule my house, too, and I am happy with that arrangement. My female, Dorothy sounds like your Vladimir. We call her our “tree dweller.” My male, Giles, who is also over 18 pounds, is our “bush dweller.” For one year Giles has not had a carbohydrate and still he is fat. He eats a grain free, “healthy weight” formula. I think he is just a big boy who doesn’t move much. I am sure that Vladimir loves you! Popcorn is a lovely treat, even more so if you drizzle a tiny bit of real maple syrup on it! I indulge in an afternoon handful of potato chips most days or a bit of darkest chocolate. I love coffee, too. I hope your shop and rehearsing goes well this weekend.

    1. Hi, Jenn! Oh yum!! I will have to try the maple syrup idea. And I love chocolate. And lately I love potato chips as well. The weekend was good! xo Lynn ps – your cats sound like a hoot! I have recently put my cats on grain free healthy diet.

  3. Hi Lynn, Vladimir sounds a lot like our last cat Sam. He liked to chomp my head too.
You asked if we had a favourite snack or drink. I find I crave yogurt and fruit. I know, not very imaginative! That is my go to snack when I am hungry.
Hope you have a lovely day in your shop today. Wish I lived closer, would love to come and visit!

    1. Hi, Robin! Oh, that’s a snack I love too. I should probably get back to that more. Been eating too many carbs lately and it sure show! EEK. I wish you could come visit the shop! xo Lynn

  4. Vlad looks like he rules things there. He is such a pretty cat. Bickett slept in my lap for about 30 minutes last night. Can you imagine that? I didn’t move! Poppy and I ate a big bowl of popcorn a couple of days ago. He eats a cereal bowl full and I get the mixing bowl. 🙂 Love, Mom

    1. Oh, I love popcorn. I think I got it from you, from when you used to pop it for you and Andee and me! Love you!! ~your girl
