Guitar Progress Video: Wrong One Right

This afternoon I did some practicing for an upcoming gig, so I figured I’d pull out the camera and get an updated progress video.  This is a Billy Burnette song that I first heard after Jason gave me one of Billy Burnette’s CDs.  I have soooo far to go in my playing!  Ugh.  I wish I could hit the 10,000-hour mark in a day, but alas it does not work that way. I’ll just keep practicing.

I am loving my Guild guitar, but it is a big guitar, a D-55 dreadnought. My right elbow has been hurting a bit, and I am actually wondering if it’s the size of the guitar. I guess time will tell. I would be extremely sad, except if it does not work out, well, it means more guitar shopping. 🙂 Of course, the elbow pain could also be from my desk job and using a mouse eight hours a day!

Early this morning, I met my oldest son, Daniel, for a big hug. He is going deep sea fishing over the weekend. I don’t care how big he is, he is Pooh Bear to me! We looked into the sun, #nomakeup #nofilter for a selfie! I love this child. In fact, I love all my children so much. It cannot be put into words, as all you mothers know. Daniel brought me flowers on Monday for Mother’s Day and they are all open today! So beautiful!

First thing in the morning, looking into the sun. No makeup, no filter, no coffee. Got a hug from my boy before he headed off to deep sea fish.
Lilies from my oldest son, Daniel, for Mother’s Day.

I am off, running into the weekend, with so much to do. As usual, I’ll open the shop. We are practicing for an upcoming gig. I would love to get a minute or two in the garden! We shall see. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Enjoy this day.

Jamming with Friends

I have always wondered what it would be like to get together with a bunch of friends and just jam.  Well, I found out over the weekend.  It was the first of hopefully-many-more-to-come jam sessions.  Eight of us got together to play, sing, and just learn more about music.

Playing my beloved Martin. The Guild is in the shop currently having the frets worked on, the nut repaired, and basically just being set up to ring and sing even better than she does now.

In my apartment, there is this narrow end of a partition wall where some cool old photos and what-nots hang. I was admiring them today, and I thought you might want to see.

Cat’s view.
Old frame with old photo.
Roses. That’s all.
Check out that hat! I love the heart on the frame.
I love cherubs and angels.
Princess of the Universe.

Happy Tuesday to everyone!
ENJOY THIS DAY!
